Mboni Masimba: These have been two great years
It has been two years since ‘The Mboni Show’ first premiered on East Africa TV and since then it has continued to woo more viewers into its fan base.
This month as the show airs its century of episodes, even the founder, Mboni Masimba, is shocked by the rate at which the show has grown.
This year the show finally started showing on DStv’s Africa Magic Swahili every Saturday, something that Mboni says was a promise that she has finally delivered.
“When the show first beamed there were lots of negatives that sent shivers as many people felt it was just one of those wannabes who were trying to run before they can walk,” she says.
In the two years the show has been to almost every corner of Tanzania where she has had very interesting stories to tell.
“I am happy that the show has taken me to almost everywhere in Tanzania; sometimes you never get to appreciate the diversity of this country not until you get there,” says the 35-year-old.
