Sheneneh was born December 14th 1963 on the Southside of Detroit to her mother Tequila Jenkins who went to jail when Sheneneh was 5 for shooting her father and his mistress for having an affair,so that left Sheneneh to be raised by her grandma Shirley, Sheneneh was severely bullied as a kid ,because of this she got into fights in school which obviously got her sent home a lot , and with her grandmother working as secretary Sheneneh spent her suspensions at the hair salon her and grandmother went to "Wanda's Wigs"and she was watched under the supervision of the manager Wanda.
She initially swept hair and stocked shelves,because unless you was getting your touched up or waiting to get your hair touched up there was no sitting , then by high school, she was doing hair and nails. By age 18, she was promoted to manager and changed the name of the salon to "Sheneneh's Sho Nuff Hair Salon".
