Family guy season 22 release date

Family Guy is headed to the "Danger Zone."

The Fox animated series kicks off its 23rd season with a parody of Top Gun, and not much from the 1986 Tom Cruise blockbuster comes out unscathed.

In it, patriarch Peter, who's voiced by creator Seth MacFarlane, takes on Cruise's role as Maverick.

He gets romantic with Charlie (who was portrayed by Kelly McGillis in the movie), even serenading her in the bar, like he did in the original. It's not clear, however, whether he'll be singing the Righteous Brothers' ballad You've Lost That Loving Feeling, as Maverick did.

Charlie is, of course, a version of Peter's wife Lois, who's voiced by Alex Borstein.

Son Stewie (also MacFarlane) pops up in a role that looks similar to Val Kilmer's "Iceman," Maverick's foe, flying alongside him and, yep, facing off against him in that beach volleyball match, with sunscreen, shades, and all.
